Robert Saleh’s tenure as head coach of the New York Jets has come to an abrupt end following a disappointing third loss of the season. Despite building one of the strongest defenses in the NFL, Saleh’s 20-36 record over three seasons wasn’t enough to save his job.

The Jets’ decision to part ways with him, however, has stirred debate, considering Saleh’s reputation as one of the best defensive minds in the league.

What makes this firing more complex is the financial aftermath. Though Saleh is no longer coaching the Jets, he’ll still be getting paid a significant sum for the next two years.

🚨BREAKING: Robert Saleh will make close to 20 THOUSAND DOLLARS PER DAY from the New York #Jets for about the next two years.

    • $583,333.33 per month
    • $134,615.38 a week
    • $19,178.08 a day
    • $799.09 per hour
    • $13.32 dollars per minute

Reports suggest he will earn roughly $19,178 per day, translating to $583,333 monthly. That’s $799 an hour or $13.32 per minute, amounting to a total of $5 million for the season, on par with the 12th-highest-paid head coach, Nick Sirianni.

Robert Saleh did not address Aaron Rodgers-rift rumors in his farewell statement

As Saleh steps away, defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has been named interim head coach. However, many fans and analysts are left questioning the timing of the decision. Saleh himself expressed surprise at being let go, since he believed the team still had potential to meet their goals.

Robert Saleh’s farewell statement was gracious, thanking the Jets organization and fans, though it avoided addressing rumors of a tense relationship with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is said to have played a role in Saleh’s dismissal.

The Jets now face the challenge of finding a new head coach while navigating the fallout from firing a coach many still regard as a top-tier defensive strategist. Saleh may be gone from the sidelines, but his influence and the conversation surrounding his departure are far from over.
