Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is facing two fines totaling more than $25,000 for ‘unsportsmanlike conduct’ during the team’s recent victory against the New York Giants. While this might sound hefty, it’s a small dent for the second-highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL, who earns $36 million annually.
Lamb was fined $14,069 for a gun gesture after a first-down catch in the opening quarter, followed by a $11,255 fine for taunting after a 55-yard touchdown, per Tom Pelissero.
This incident occurred during the Cowboys’ 20-15 win over the Giants in Week 4, where Lamb had an impressive performance with seven catches for 98 yards and a touchdown.

An expensive couple weeks for Lamb, who was fined $22,511 for unnecessary roughness in Week 3. https://t.co/POJGM0ra9t pic.twitter.com/lkdM3FHPAk
This isn’t the first time Lamb has been hit with a penalty this season. Just last week, he was fined $22,511 for using his helmet in an altercation with Ravens’ wide receiver Kyle Hamilton. Despite the absence of a flag during the game, the NFL later imposed the fine.
These repeated penalties have sparked criticism from fans who argue the NFL is excessively fining players. Yet, for Lamb, who recently signed a massive $136 million contract extension, these fines are more of a minor inconvenience than a significant financial hit.

With Lamb’s strong performance on the field, including 316 receiving yards and two touchdowns so far this season, the Cowboys are certainly getting their money’s worth. But as the fines pile up, it remains to be seen if Lamb will rein in his unsportsmanlike conduct.
