Clemson Tigers’ defensive back Ashton Hampton pulled off one of the most memorable plays in college football this season, catching a one-handed interception that left fans and analysts in awe. The play, which took place during Clemson’s Week 11 match against Virginia Tech, has quickly become an internet sensation, sparking conversation about what some are calling the “Interception of the Year.”

With Clemson leading 14-7 in the third quarter, Virginia Tech’s quarterback Kyron Drones aimed a pass toward wide receiver Da’Quan Felton. The pass looked solid until Hampton made his move, leaping in front of Felton and snagging the ball with just one hand. Check out the feat below:

The incredible play halted Virginia Tech’s momentum and solidified Clemson’s defensive control.

This game was crucial for Clemson, especially after a disappointing loss to the Louisville Cardinals in Week 10. Determined to stay in the hunt for the College Football Playoffs, Clemson managed a 24-14 win over Virginia Tech. This victory also marked their seventh consecutive win in their all-time series against the Hokies, bringing their season record to 7-2.

Quarterback Cade Klubnik was also a standout, scoring three touchdowns in the second half to seal the victory. His precise passes, including a 29-yard touchdown to Cole Turner and a 41-yard touchdown to T.J. Moore, showcased his skill and leadership, helping Clemson maintain its push toward an ACC title.

With two more home games coming up, the Tigers will next face The Citadel Bulldogs and South Carolina Gamecocks, aiming to keep their winning streak alive.
